Vehicle Carbon Reduction and Efficiency

The Map shows the Zoning distinctions for Freeport. Rec or Recreation spaces are parks and green spaces that are maintained in the Borough. It has always been a right for the community to garden and was never something that was in question because of our communities rural nature.

Freeport Borough is about to begin a wastewater treatment plant upgrade. Our sewage and rain water systems are a combined system. Because of this, it is very difficult to add green water alternatives to the system. We manage many parks and green spaces in town to attempt to remove rain water before it enters the combined system. The new wastewater plant will use more sustainable energies such as UV Light instead of chlorine gas.
