MO6 Municipal Budget: The municipality utilizes the following best practices for creating, managing, and publicizing the municipal budget.
A. There is an annual revenue-expenditure trend analysis conducted including 4 previous years.
B. The revenue-expenditure analysis projects the budget out for the next 3 years.
C. Funds equivalent to a minimum of 2 months worth of expenditures or revenue are carried over year to year.
D. When the final budget is advertised it includes working documents to help the public to better prepare themselves to comment on and/or support the final budget.
E. The municipal budget includes a written narrative explaining the details of the budget including key points, goals, and/or changes to better communicate important details to the public. Required to earn additional points for funding specific sustainability initiatives in a later question.
