Related Criteria

W15 Sharing Water Data: Do you have data to share about the municipality's water use (the water the municipality uses, not the community at large)?

W16 Water Use Intensity Reduction: By what percentage has the municipality reduced its water use intensity compared to the baseline performance?

Sharing Water Data

Instructions for Data Calculation

Much like we do for energy, when calculating water consumption data, we use Water Use Intensity (WUI), to normalize the data based on area measurements (building square footage).

To share the municipality’s water use data, please download this spreadsheet as an excel file and fill in the requested information. The file contains instructions about what and how to report. When the spreadsheet is complete, upload it to the sharing water data question using the attachment function on the online program portal. You must upload the completed spreadsheet as an excel file with the file name “YYYYMMDD_Organization name_Water data.”

Calculate the percent change in WUI as follows:(WUI from the current year – WUI from the base year) / WUI from the base year.
