Equitable housing
Equitable housing is housing that is attainable by people of all income levels and all backgrounds that meets a number of important baseline standards, such as energy efficiency, safety, and accessible location. Pennsylvania has a long history of racial and economic discrimination in housing that still affects a significant portions or our population. This problem will require focused attention and significant work to overcome and municipalities have an important role to play. In this section you will learn how to assess housing need in your community and region, make plans for improvement, and what policy tools are available to improve the situation for this and future generations.
